At around midnight, Watertown Fire Rescue responded to a vehicle crash and rollover in Watertown.

According to WFR, a pickup had entered a construction zone on 14th Avenue NW. The vehicle allegedly collided with construction machinery, rolled into a ditch and caught fire, the WFR reported.

A Codington County Sheriff’s Deputy arrived prior to fire crews and pulled the driver out of the burning vehicle. Upon arrival, Engine 4 quickly extinguished the fire, while Medic 4 provided patient care and transported the individual to Prairie Lakes Hospital, WFR reported. The driver had serious injuries. Battalion 1 was also used.

The Watertown Police Department and South Dakota Highway Patrol also assisted at the scene.
