MARION, Ill. (KFVS) - The Marion VFW will host its annual Veterans Day tribute on November 11 at 11 a.m.

According to a news release from the Marion VFW, its traditional ceremony may be the longest-running event in southern Illinois.

It’ll be held at the Veterans Memorial Wall on the east side of the post grounds.

Organizers say Mike Gunter, USMC, will speak at the ceremony with an introduction by Post Commander and Marion Mayor Mike Absher.

A special commemorative flag retirement ceremony will be held after the main program.

Attendees should bring their lawn chairs.
