The Bangladesh Awami League, the party of ousted former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, on Tuesday called for a nationwide march on November 13, as tensions rise ahead of her closely watched crimes against humanity verdict.

The party said the protests would extend from Dhaka to districts across Bangladesh, involving its student and youth wings as well as ordinary citizens.

Hasina’s party also called the movement as a response to what it called false cases, sham trials, and the continued influence of the Yunus regime.

“The streets of Bangladesh are rising again. From Dhaka to every district, Awami League, Chhatra League, Jubo League, and millions of freedom-loving citizens are marching — demanding an end to the false cases, the sham trials, and the Yunus regime’s reign of fear," it wrote.
