NEW YORK (WBNG) — Attorney General Letitia James won a court order on Monday that will temporarily protect SNAP benefits in New York State.

The ruling allowed for a temporary restraining order, which will stop the Trump administration from going after states that approved the release of SNAP benefits for the month of November.

James and 24 other attorneys general and governors filed an emergency motion for a temporary restraining order last night after the Trump administration sent governors a late-night memo directing them to “immediately undo” the release of SNAP benefits.
