DAVIS COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) — A 16-year-old boy has died after falling about 60 feet from a Rocky Mountain Power pole in Fruit Heights on Monday evening.
According to Stephanie Dinsmore, with Davis County, the juvenile was climbing a cell tower in the area of Fruit Heights, when the cell tower caught fire. He then fell approximately 60 feet.
Dinsmore told ABC4 that when deputies arrived and located the teen, he was suffering from severe burns consistent with electrocution, as well as traumatic injuries from the fall.
The juvenile was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Rocky Mountain Power assisted in shutting down power to the area to ensure scene safety.
The boy was a Davis County resident.
