Toronto may see a significant impact on rush hour traffic Tuesday as Environment Canada has issued a winter weather alert for the city.

The alert, issued around 7 a.m. Tuesday, warns of bursts of heavy snow which could reduce visibility. Motorists are warned to expect hazardous driving conditions, and to adjust travel plans accordingly.

When visibility is reduced, Environment Canada recommends drivers slow down, watch for tail lights, and be prepared to stop.
