The stage is being set for the IPL 2026 mini-auction, which will reportedly take place in Abu Dhabi on December 15 or 16. The IPL Governing Council is currently finalising logistics, with an official confirmation expected soon. This will mark the third consecutive IPL auction to be hosted overseas, following Dubai in 2024 and Jeddah for the 2025 mega auction.

According to India Today sources, Abu Dhabi’s selection reflects the league’s growing partnership with the Gulf region, known for its world-class infrastructure and successful record in hosting international cricket tournaments. The UAE capital’s proximity to India, coupled with its state-of-the-art facilities, makes it a natural choice for such a marquee event.
