MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Trial dates were set Monday for the man accused of stalking Wisconsin Supreme Court Chief Justice Jill Karofsky, online court records show.
Jury selection is expected to begin on Jan. 26, 2026, and a three-day trial will start the following day for Ryan Thornton.
Thornton was charged with one count of stalking , which carries a maximum penalty of three-and-a-half years in prison, if he is convicted.
Authorities arrested him in Racine County, and he was later booked in the Dane County Jail on Oct. 16.
His bond was set at $85,000 on Oct.20.
Thornton, 37, pleaded not guilty to the charge on Oct. 28 in Dane County Court.
