The vacancy on Aaron Boone’s big league staff has been filled.

The Yankees have promoted Dan Fiorito to the role of first base coach, according to multiple reports. Fiorito, most recently the organization’s minor league outfield and infield coordinator, will replace Travis Chapman, whose contract was not renewed .

Chapman also served as the Yankees’ infield coach. Fiorito is expected to do the same.

The New York Post first reported Fiorito’s promotion.

A Yonkers native who attended Fordham Prep in the Bronx and Manhattanville College in Purchase, Fiorito played in the Yankees’ minor league system from 2013-2016. The 35-year-old manned every infield position and made it up to Triple-A before becoming a coach.
