An Indian-origin businesswoman has sued a London fertility clinic after suffering a stroke and vision loss, which she alleges were caused by an intensive IVF "bootcamp" treatment, The Daily Mail reported.
Navkiran Dhillon-Byrne, Chief Marketing Officer at an international software company, turned to the Assisted Reproduction and Gynaecology Centre (ARGC) after being told the NHS could not fund her treatment and following an unsuccessful attempt at another private clinic.
As part of the treatment, she underwent a one-off "add-on" IVIg immunotherapy, designed to regulate immune responses.
According to her claim, ten days after completing the treatment in April 2018, she suffered a stroke and now lives with lasting vision impairment.
