( 25News Now ) - Republican Darren Bailey announced Monday he’s staying in the race for Illinois governor, stating that he’s inspired by his son and three other family members killed in a helicopter crash last month in Montana.
Bailey said he’s also inspired by President Donald Trump to keep fighting even as he grieves for the loss of his son Zach, daughter-in-law Kelsey, and grandchildren Vada Rose and Samuel.
“After a lot of prayer and reflection, Cindy and I have decided we’re staying in this race for governor,” said Bailey in a video posted on his campaign’s Facebook page .
