Manitobans will take a collective moment of silence as they gather at the RBC Convention Centre for a Remembrance Day ceremony on Tuesday morning.

The annual ceremony — Manitoba's largest Remembrance Day event — typically draws a crowd of around 5,000 attendees to the downtown Winnipeg convention centre.

The event will honour Canadian veterans and members of the military who have served our country, and those who lost their lives doing so.

For more than a century, Canadians have observed a moment of silence on Nov. 11, marking the armistice agreement that ended the First World War at 11 a.m. on Nov. 11, 1918.
