HARLEM, Manhattan (WABC) -- A man has been charged with murder in connection to the deadly stabbing of a woman inside an Upper Manhattan apartment.

Luis Marquez, 41, was charged with murder on Tuesday, hours after police identified the victim as 47-year-old Carmen Lopez.

He ignored questions as NYPD detectives took him from the 26th Precinct to his arraignment downtown.

Investigators believe Marquez is the ex-boyfriend of Lopez, who was attacked around 4:30 a.m. Monday inside her apartment building on West 129th Street in Manhattan.

Police say the suspect was caught on surveillance camera waiting for Lopez in the third-floor hallway of her building.
