AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Augusta Regional Airport continues to see flight cancellations and delays due to mandated air-traffic cuts because of the federal shutdown.
On Tuesday, two ariving flights were canceled and two departing ones were canceled. To check the status of flights, visit flyags.com/travelers/find-a-flight/arrivals-and-departures/ .
The Federal Aviation Administration has reduced flights as some air traffic controllers — unpaid for weeks — have stopped showing up for work.
The cuts affect major airports, which don’t include Augusta. But all flights to and from Augusta connect to major airports, resulting in snags here.
The FAA ordered domestic airlines last week to drop 4% of their flights at 40 major U.S. airports . The goal for cutting flights is set to rise to 6%
