SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- An atmospheric river is on track to impact the Bay Area this week, the National Weather Service said. Tuesday looks set to be the last dry day before the system sweeps in and the weather service is recommending getting any outdoor preparations done.
Most of the Bay Area will see at least an inch of rain with 2 to 3 inches possible across elevated terrain, the NWS said.
The atmospheric river, which the NWS called "quick-hitting," will bring moderate rain, strong south winds, and a slight chance of thunderstorms late Wednesday through Thursday. Details could still be refined, the NWS advised, but rain and gusty winds are expected to move in Wednesday, peaking overnight into Thursday.
Minor flooding and power outages are possible, the NWS said. Stick with KRON4.com
