Legendary WWE wrestler Eddie Guerrero is being honored by his hometown of El Paso near the 20th anniversary of his death.
The city of El Paso made a proclamation during Tuesday’s city council meeting, designating Nov. 18 as “Eddie Guerrero Day.” Fans are encouraged to attend the celebration wearing luchador masks or dressing as their favorite wrestling persona, according to a post by District 3 City Councilwoman Deanna M. Rocha.
The proclamation took place at City Hall, 300 N. Campbell St., and will also be streamed on the city of El Paso YouTube page.
Eddie Guerrero wrestled at Jefferson High School
Guerrero was born and raised in El Paso and graduated from Jefferson High School.
