Michael Ray Richardson, the four-time NBA All-Star who was known for his two-way play while playing for the Knicks, Warriors and Nets, died at the age of 70.
The man known as "Sugar" was the NBA's 1985 Comeback Player of the Year and an incredible defender. But he was also received an NBA ban in 1986 due to a third violation of the league's drug policy. He later wrote a book -- Banned: How I Squandered An All-Star NBA Career Before Finding My Redemption -- to tell his story.
How did Richardson die? As ESPN reported, his friend and attorney John Zelbst said that he died "after getting diagnosed with prostate cancer."
