The International Soap Box Derby , Inc. has found its new CEO that will lead the decades-old youth racing organization into its next chapter, a statement from the Derby's board of directors announced.

Dennis VanFossen Jr., a former Akron derby racer and University of Akron grad, has been appointed as the Soap Box Derby's new CEO, effective immediately. VanFossen Jr. had been serving as interim executive director since mid-June.“In his role as interim executive director, Dennis VanFossen has demonstrated exceptional leadership, vision, and a deep commitment to the mission of the Soap Box Derby," said Jill A.
