A notable Christian ministry group is mourning the death of its founder and his daughter.
Ignite the Fire announced Monday that Alexander Wurm, 53, and his daughter Serena, 22, died after a small plane crashed in Florida. The duo was in route to Jamaica with relief supplies in the wake of Hurricane Melissa.
The plane took off from Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport and crashed in Coral Springs at about 10:19 a.m. on Monday. It was heading to Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash.
