New Delhi: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have some major gaps to fill in their squad as they aim to bounce back after a dismal campaign in IPL 2026. Defending champions KKR failed to make it to the playoffs last season after letting go of their former captain, Shreyas Iyer. The three-time champions had to appoint Ajinkya Rahane as captain in a last-minute move after failing to secure an ideal leadership replacement for Iyer.

KKR have been desperately looking for an Indian wicket-keeper batter in the trading window and have been linked with Sanju Samson and KL Rahul. Both are also ideal contenders for captaincy.
