President Donald Trump has proposed major changes to refugee admissions in the U.S., drastically slashing the number of people being allowed in the country while also removing automatic renewals from work permits potentially leaving them without work. A judge has extended her order blocking Trump from deploying national guard troops to Portland, Oregon, dealing a setback to the administration. ICE has also continued to spend heavily in its advertising during the government shutdown, which has seen many major services cut or reduced.
