WHITESTOWN, Ind. — "Juntos unidos justica por Maria," a crowd shouted in Spanish on Monday, which means "united together, justice for Maria."

It was one of the many chants from a crowd on the steps of the Boone County Prosecutor's Office. People showed their support for 32-year-old mother of four Maria Florinda Rios Perez.

Belinda Cozzy-Powers, from Boone County, attended the peace gathering Nov. 10.

"I'm here to support this family from a senseless crime. A victim of homicide myself in this county, unsolved, and I felt like it was my duty to come and support them," Cozzy-Powers said.
