Two people found dead in a Redwood City liquor store that burned last week have been identified, but authorities say they don’t know what the pair were doing inside the building or what sparked the blaze.

Benigno Nuguid Pare, 56, and Anil Kumar Sharma, 25, were found by firefighters responding to a blaze at Avenue Liquor Store on Roosevelt Avenue, about 5:30 a.m. on Nov. 3.

The Redwood City police and fire departments and the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office are investigating the fire and the deaths.

The cause of the blaze hasn’t been determined and police said it’s not known why Pare and Sharma were inside the store.
