Indian ODI and Test captain Shubman Gill said he was left ‘disturbed’ by the massive blast near the Red Fort in Old Delhi on Monday that took the lives of at least eight people and left several others injured. In a brief post on social media, he said his thoughts were with the victims and hoped for their peace and safety.
A car exploded near the Red Ford metro station in the evening. According to Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora, the blast occurred at 6:52 p.m. local time (13:22 GMT) after the slow-moving vehicle halted at a traffic signal and suddenly blew up. The cause of the explosion is yet to be officially confirmed, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi has vowed that those behind the incident will be brought to justice.
