Jean Holland Foxman, 94, died peacefully on Oct. 25, 2025, in Nashville, with her children at her side following a brief hospitalization.
She was born Nov. 23, 1930 in Providence, R.I., to Richard H. and Olive Jean (nee Wallace) Holland. Jean graduated from Providence Classical High School and then attended Pembroke College, graduating from Brown University in 1952. She received her master’s degree in library science from Western Reserve University in 1965.
In her career, Jean worked at the Pratt & Whitney Jet Research Lab in Hartford, Conn., and Bailey Meter in Cleveland. Following receipt of her master’s degree, Jean worked first for the graduate library program at Western Reserve University and then was a co-owner and co-editor of the Index to Jewish Periodicals for 25 years.
