In an effort to disrupt the supply of drug cartels, the Trump administration has significantly built up its military presence in the Caribbean. Since September, it has conducted at least 17 military strikes, killing at least 76 people, on boats suspected of smuggling drugs. And now the USS Gerald R. Ford is in the region.
