Edmontonians honoured Canada’s veterans at a Remembrance Day ceremony at city hall on Tuesday.
The ceremony to pay tribute to the country’s military veterans, fallen soldiers and actively serving members was hosted by the Loyal Edmonton Regiment.
“The military community has called Edmonton home for over 100 years, including the Loyal Edmonton Regiment, which carries our city’s namesake,” Edmonton Mayor Andrew Knack told attendees. “The soldiers we remember came from many backgrounds, including those indigenous to this land. When called to serve, they bravely defended Canada.
“Thank you to every member of our Canadian Armed Forces – every reservist, and every veteran who has made the sacrifice to serve.”
The service was followed by an outdoor procession to the City Hall Cenotaph. Wreath
