The Inland boys athlete of the week:
Name: Koa Regalado
School: Colton
Sport: Football
Year: Junior
Noteworthy: Regalado completed 21 of 28 passes for 393 yards and set an Inland Empire record by tossing nine touchdown passes as the Yellowjackets outlasted Ganesha 73-53 in a CIF Southern Section Division 12 playoff opener. The previous Inland area record for touchdown passes in a game was eight and shared by six other quarterbacks, according to the Cal-Hi Sports record book. Regalado also ran for a team-high 69 yards and a touchdown. That also marked the first time an Inland quarterback has accounted for 10 offensive touchdowns in a single game. Colton travels to Bellflower for a quarterfinal game Friday night.
