Afternoon highs should surge back into the 50s. After an early preview of the winter season to begin the week with light snow, cold temperatures and slick roadways, the unseasonably chilly air stuck around for Veterans Day across Central and Eastern Kentucky. Temperatures were in the low 20s to start the day and it felt even colder with a brisk west wind in place. A weak wave of energy kept some cloudiness around but shifting winds to the southwest did help push highs into the low 40s by the afternoon although it still felt rather cold with the wind knocking the wind chills down into the 30s.
We are set-up for a quiet mid-week with moderating temperatures thanks to a southwest breeze pushing milder air back into the Ohio Valley. Temperatures won’t fall much into the early hours of Wednes
