A 48-year-old driver was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday on southbound Interstate 287 in Somerset County, officials said.

The man was attempting to navigate the ramp at Exit 12 in Franklin Township when he veered off the road and hit several trees before his car overturned, State police said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene following the 3:14 a.m. crash. The Totowa resident has not been publicly identified by police as of Tuesday morning.

The crash remains under investigation.
