CHEBOYGAN — On Veterans Day, Cheboygan Area Schools recognized and commemorated several area veterans during a ceremony held at Cheboygan High School.

Joining this year’s ceremony were students from elementary schools in Cheboygan. Like previous years, students from Cheboygan High School and Cheboygan Intermediate/Middle School were also present.

Among the speakers included Cheboygan Area Schools Superintendent Spencer Byrd and Cheboygan High School student Carley Lopiccolo. The Cheboygan High School band also recognized the local veterans by performing during the ceremony.

Following the ceremony, Cheboygan Intermediate/Middle School students acknowledged veterans by waving American flags during a drive-by car parade.
