In October, I had the opportunity to participate in two roundtable discussions that presented different perspectives on dairy farm management styles that I had not previously considered.

Although it did not make me want to immediately upend our current approach to how we dairy, it did remind me of something I learned long ago: every farm has a different approach, a different way — of caring for their cows, managing their herd and operating their farm — that works best for them. And there is no one “right way” to manage cows.
