Record low temperatures and a biting wind chill in the low 20s started the day. The thermometer at JAX dropped to 28 degrees, beating the old record of 35 degrees, set in 1977. This was the second-earliest date with a minimum temperature of 28 degrees or less.
Don’t put away the jackets or plant protection yet as we have another cold night ahead.
