The ongoing teachers’ strike is top of mind for many Albertans with the legislature set to return on Thursday, but the government provided few details on its plans to end the contract dispute as it detailed the upcoming session on Monday.

Government house leader Joseph Schow laid out the Alberta government’s priorities for the upcoming fall legislative session in a news conference, listing a handful of the 15 pieces of legislation that are planned.

But Schow, who is also Alberta’s jobs, economy, trade and immigration minister, provided little clarity on what those bills will entail — or whether the government will use back-to-work legislation to force an end to a provincewide teachers’ strike now entering its third week.
