An Avon and Somerset Police officer who breached his bail conditions and lied to his fellow officers has been dismissed without notice after being found guilty of gross misconduct.
PC Thomas West had been arrested and bailed in March 2024.
As part of his bail conditions, West was prohibited from contacting a woman directly or indirectly. Additionally, as a serving officer at the time, he was also instructed not to approach or communicate with the same woman. He was also suspended from duty.
Two months later, while still on bail, PC West reported being assaulted.
