Flight cuts ordered by the Trump administration entered their fifth day Tuesday, as airlines warned it would take time for travel schedules to resume to normalcy even after an agreement to reopen the federal government.

A deal to end the longest government shutdown in history passed the Senate and now requires the approval of House lawmakers, who are expected to take up the measure this week.

Following Monday’s vote, Airlines for America, a trade association that represents major airlines including American, Delta, Southwest and United, said it hoped lawmakers would act swiftly while cautioning that travel disruption will persist even after the shutdown ends.
