A woman has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car on a busy Scots high street. ‌

Emergency crews raced to Musselburgh's main thoroughfare at around 5.35pm this evening after receiving a report of a collision involving a car and a female pedestrian. ‌

The woman was blue-lighted to hospital and her condition is not known at this time. ‌

Local reports suggested she received CPR at the scene from paramedics.

Eyewitness Connor Leadbetter told Edinburgh Live : "Someone's been knocked down on Musselburgh High Street. Police are round a car questioning. They are doing CPR. It looks like they were knocked down."
