More than two years after a North Port couple were stabbed to death in their home, their adoptive son will stand trial for murder.

Dima Tower, 24, was arrested in September 2023 following a police car chase after Tower allegedly fled his family's North Port home where investigators found Jennifer and Robbie Tower dead. Probable cause affidavits in his case describe how one officer observed Tower, then 21, standing near the trunk of a car, the back of his head and shoulders covered in blood, before fleeing the scene.
