NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WFSB) - American Medical Response of New Haven held its tenth annual Veterans Day ceremony Monday, honoring veterans who continue serving their communities as first responders.

The ceremony recognized veteran employees from New Haven’s AMR, police and fire departments who have transitioned from military service to public safety careers.

The event began with a complimentary breakfast followed by a recognition ceremony. Veterans received challenge coins and Quilts of Valor, handcrafted tributes acknowledging their military service and continued dedication to community safety.

AMR officials said the company takes pride in employing veterans, whose military experience translates well to emergency medical services.
