US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor on Tuesday expressed gratitude To President Donald Trump for giving him the opportunity to serve as Washington’s envoy to the country.
The 38-year-old envoy was administered the oath of office at a ceremony presided by Trump in the Oval Office on Monday.
In a post on X, Gor said: Very much looking forward to being the new U.S. Ambassador to India. Thank you @POTUS! I’m deeply grateful for this opportunity and committed to honoring the faith you’ve shown in me."
The US Senate had in October confirmed Gor to serve as the next United States ambassador to India.
In August, Trump had promoted Gor, Director of Presidential Personnel, to be the next US Ambassador to India, and Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs.
