ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Minn — Several vehicles caught fire Tuesday morning at a recycling center in St. Louis County after officials say the car exploded while being compacted.
According to the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to Holmes Recycling Services in Clinton Township at around 10:40 a.m. on a report of several vehicles on fire. When officials arrived at the center, they found an active fire caused by the explosion. Fire officials believe that a battery inside the car may have caused the explosion.
Officials have not said how many vehicles caught fire, but did add that they believe the fire is contained.
