SPOTSYLVANIA, Va. — Former Spotsylvania County school board chair Lorita “Rita” Daniels has announced that she’s running to represent Virginia in the US Senate.
The Daniels campaign sent out a press release on Tuesday officially announcing her campaign. In the statement, Daniels said that she made the announcement on Veterans Day because she intends to make veterans' concerns a cornerstone of her campaign.
According to her campaign, Veterans Day is “a deeply personal day of reflection and service for Daniels.”
The former Spotsylvania County Board Chair is married to an Air Force veteran, and members of her family have served in the military.
