ATLANTA — In 2014, 68-year-old Army veteran Eugene Mosley found himself homeless in Atlanta.

“Even though I didn't go to a conflict, I still have moments that I feel uncomfortable in certain areas," he said. "Like I sit with my back to the wall when I go out, just from the training and how they train us."

He applied to a program through Atlanta Housing called the Housing Choice Voucher Program. It allows participants to rent apartments in the private market, rather than relying on public housing. Through that support, Mosley found stability and a chance to rebuild.

"I try to get all veterans to understand you need to use your benefits," Mosley said. "You need to know that you have stuff, you know. I didn't go to a conflict or war, but I still served. Some people just refuse to be bothe
