A 43-year-old Edwardsburg man is recovering, and possibly facing charges, after a break-in and water rescue by police in Watervliet Township on Friday night.
The Berrien County Sheriff’s Department says 911 received multiple calls from the 5,200 block of North Watervliet Road around 10 p.m. about a man in an apparently manic state who’d jumped out the window of a home. Callers also reported the man, now injured, had forced his way into another home and then run out through the yard.
Responding officers found the man standing in waist-deep water in the Paw Paw River near the North Watervliet Road bridge.
