LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A former Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services supervisor is accused of fraud to get Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and other benefits for their spouse.

According to court records, 39-year-old Lea Meece worked as a former DHHS employee as a Social Services Supervisor.

On April 24, NDHHS Special Investigations Unit received a referral reporting that there were some problems in 48-year-old Kyle Ames’ case and other family members needed to be reviewed. The unit found that there were several times that Meece had accessed Ames’ case and had written narratives and created employee verifications and were wrong, court documents allege.
