PETAWAWA – While 80 years have passed since the end of the Second World War, gathering on Remembrance Day to honour the sacrifices of the men and woman who fought for our freedoms remains an important practice.
And equally important is honouring those who continue to step forward to serve their country through the Canadian Armed Forces. On Nov. 11, with snow on the ground, wind rustling in the trees and the sun shining, about 2,500 people gathered in front of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 517 to pause and remember.
