Celina officials will break ground on a new fire station Nov. 19. Fire Station No. 4 could open in 2026, according to city officials.
The details
The groundbreaking ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. Nov. 19, according to a news release from the city. When built, the station will help serve residents on the east side of Celina.
Crossland Construction will build the new station for about $11.4 million. Council approved a contract with Crossland for the construction of the facility at a meeting Oct. 14.
The company was already set to build the station, but council approved an amended contract in October because the price tag of the build increased from $9 million to $11.4 million. The increase in price came after added features were recommended by Celina Fire Chief Shawn White.
