NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio (WOIO) -A quiet, historic street in North Olmsted is at the center of a heated debate as residents on Butternut Ridge Road are vocally opposing a proposed development of 45 new townhomes.
Signs declaring “No New 45 Homes” are a common sight in front yards, signaling a unified front against the project.
Robert Sharp, a resident of Butternut Ridge for 47 years, is helping lead the charge to preserve the character of his beloved neighborhood.
“It will alter the character of this street forever,” Sharp states, expressing deep concern for the area where he raised his family.
He fears the development will trigger a “cascade effect” of further construction in the city.
The proposed 45 townhomes would occupy a 5.5-acre lot, with a portion of the development encroaching upo
