Men, women and children lined the streets at Fort Vancouver National Historic Site on Tuesday to honor the nation’s veterans as part of the 37th Annual Lough Legacy Veterans Day Parade.
More than 1,000 marchers and riders from across the region welcomed onlookers waving American flags and cheering for the 75 entries, including veterans’ organizations, military vehicles, marching bands, Reserve Officers’ Training Corps units, equestrian groups and youth organizations.
Following the parade, the Community Military Appreciation Committee hosted an open house at Pearson Air Museum where attendees could learn more about local employers and organizations who support veterans.
Organizers said the parade is meant to celebrate the service and sacrifice local veterans have made for freedom.
