FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — NDSU will have to find a new leader.

President David Cook has been named the next president of Iowa State University.

Cook attended Iowa State University and graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts in political science and speech communication.

He got his PhD in organizational communication in 1998 from University of Kansas.

In a message to the campus, Cook said it was a deeply personal decision that he didn’t make lightly because of what NDSU has meant to him and his wife, Kate,

Cook began his role as president of NDSU in 2022.

He will begin his new role in Iowa on March 1.

An internal transition team is already guiding the next steps.
